1
00:00:00.090 --> 00:00:03.150
And their Muslim rulers didn't do that during the Ottoman period.

2
00:00:03.630 --> 00:00:06.150
Okay, so the answer is no.

3
00:00:07.050 --> 00:00:13.890
The Muslim rulers didn't tax churches during the Ottoman period; they were very
kind to Christians.

4
00:00:14.070 --> 00:00:17.790
As a matter of fact, they took care of our holy sites.

5
00:00:18.630 --> 00:00:26.550
They had rebuilt Islamic authorities, rebuilt the Church of the Sepulchre three
different times over the centuries.

6
00:00:28.530 --> 00:00:32.790
They had a law protecting Christian pilgrims on their journey.

7
00:00:32.850 --> 00:00:34.350
Like, nobody messed with the pilgrims.

8
00:00:34.410 --> 00:00:39.090
The Ottoman Turks, the Muslim rulers of the Holy Land, rebuilt the Church of the
Holy Sepulchre three times?

9
00:00:39.270 --> 00:00:40.170
Three times, yeah.

10
00:00:40.470 --> 00:00:46.230
Either completely rebuilt it, or a major renovation one time it caught on fire
and they redid the roof.

11
00:00:46.350 --> 00:00:51.630
But if you've seen the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, you can imagine what it
took to redo that. No, it's.
